Resistance Is Futile

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I can’t hold it in any longer. I’ve got to tell somebody. Opportunities like this don’t come around every day.

In a strategy worthy of the Borg on ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’  Google is creating the largest social networking platform you could ever imagine, and you may not even be aware of it.

Because they’re using a decentralized model it will grow slowly and under the radar at first, but they will get ultra-deep and ultra-wide penetration. The best part though is for those who get in on the ground floor it could well be a gold mine.

Chris Lang, Social Media expert on Digg & Google says it this way:

‘This is so big Facebook and Myspace are peeing in their pants like little boys. And they can’t do anything about it.

Google is going to create a social networking platform where all its online services will be merged, creating the most powerful and user-rich experience possible.

It’s going to be BIG and marketers will be able to reach their target audience without paying big bucks or waiting for ages. It is going to be marketing nirvana.’

The opening gambit is called Google Friend Connect, and it lets you add friending and membership capabilities to any website or blog.

BTW, to be most effective you’ll need a domain name you own, but hosting is less than $10/month these days, and most tech types recommend the fully featured blogging application Wordpress which is free.

And if that overwhelms you for a limited time the folks at:

http://thesocialmediasource.com/

Will set you up with a functioning website-style blog for less than $200.

And you don’t have to use it to make money if you don’t want. You can use it to educate, motivate, socialize, entertain, or promote a cause.

But the point is:

It will be a very, very powerful way to reach like-minded people.

And my buddy Brian Campbell is teaching you how to set up GFC for free. If you don’t believe me check out:

Then when you’re GFC-enabled you can also enter your website in a free directory at:

This I know that because I’m going to be helping moderate the Spirituality category. I hope to see you there very soon.

From Woe to Wow

Even if you read your Bible a lot the “Book of Job” might be a mystery to you. You probably skip over it. It’s not light, easy reading.

Job was a man who had it together, and he was prospering like crazy. He was a leader in society until one day he lost it all. The man who had had the world by the tail suddenly had nothing. His good “friends” even came around and accused him of attracting the calamities because of hidden sin in his life, but God said his character was above reproach. His actions were blameless.

He did have one flaw in his thinking though. He nursing a deeply held fear that someday he WOULD lose it all. He probably didn’t even realize it. It was unthinkable. It was suppressed, buried down deep in his subconscious, but at one point in the process it percolated up and he lamented:

“The thing I greatly feared has come upon me”.

I don’t claim to have the character or the woes of Job by any means, but our world recently was rocked by a bankruptcy and home foreclosure.  And here I was telling people how to prosper.  It wasn’t a total surprise, but we’d hoped we could miraculously avoid it. Not so.

It stemmed from mistakes and decisions made several years ago.  Long before we began understanding the Law of Attraction, the abundance mentality, etc.  Things finally did come home to roost, and we couldn’t stop the forces that had been building for so long.  Or we didn’t believe we could anyway.

I have to admit to you sometimes I’ve felt like a royal failure because of it. Not all the time.  Not even most of the time. And I didn’t totally give in to the feelings, but I still hadn’t gotten victory over them either.  But I got a breakthrough recently when I got encouragement from a friend named Brian Campbell.

He told me sometimes things have to be torn down to be rebuilt the right way. As Jesus said it, “You can’t put new wine into old wineskins”. Apparently I needed a clean break.

I’m confident in other areas in my life, but it seems I had this fear I would be a financial loser.  It was deep in my subconscious. I wouldn’t even admit it to myself, and it took this calamity to bring it to the light.  Without Brian’s committment to my best interests though I still might not have understood. He had my blind spot.

The answer to fear, of course, is not to bury it, but to expose it to unconditional (Divine) love. Like the Bible says, “Perfect Love casts out fear”.  Now Joan & I are being healed and restored, and everything looks different.   We’re free to believe the best.

And you know what else Brian reminded me of?

God restored everything Job had lost many, many times over.  And since he’d gotten rid of his fear he could really enjoy it after that.  Maybe for the first time.  We’re looking forward to that.

You might be going through financial stress too, and you might have deep seated fears.  But believe me now, and you can thank me later, there is every reason to have hope.  The flow of Unconditional Love can set you free too.

Go Out and Play to Win,

Not Fat, Depressed or Homeless Any Mo

I met an amazing 22 year old young man on Facebook a couple of months ago who I now consider a real friend.  More than just a “Facebook Friend” if you know what I mean.  And somebody I’d trust with my daughters J

Three weeks ago after having read several of Dr. Joe Vitale’s books over Christmas break Russell Yermal decided he’d like to go to the LA premier of ‘The Compass’.  So he set his intention according to The Attractor Factor ‘Nevillized’ it (put feelings into it), Let it go, and went back to his projects.  But why don’t I let him tell the story from here.  After coming back from visiting his family:

“A girl I had not yet met took me out to lunch.  Of course it’s hard to find other 22 year olds who are on the same page as you in a college town famous for producing Cheech Marin, but, it turned out that  Laci was my age, already had her Master’s degree, was working toward her PhD, and already had quite a few victories under her belt.  I was impressed.

Things only got better.  During our conversation, I learned that Laci is being mentored by Kelli Calabrese, one of the world’s top Personal Trainers.  I soon learned that Kelli would be a featured cast member in The Compass and that Laci would be going to the premier.Talk about amazing.

I never thought that I would find someone like me in the small town of Denton, TX, but to find someone going to the same movie premier in Los Angeles?  Thank you, Universe

Long story short, Laci and I are happily dating now.  The Compass was an amazing event, and I networked with some amazing people.  Most importantly, I was standing in the VIP room when I looked down (Hey, I’m 6′6) and saw a face I couldn’t help but instantly recognize, Joe Vitale”

Tonight you can hear how Russell “The Success Man” went from 150 pounds Overweight and Homeless to Abundant and Happy in less than a Year.  For the first time ever, Russell will be telling his story LIVE and FREE in a Webinar.
